More Than Conquerors in the Darkest of Times 11: God is For Us – Pt 2

[Series: More Than Conquerors in the Darkest of Times] Romans 8:33-34.
Many Christians, when they experience the blessing of the Grace of God, have a dark tendency to think, “Uh oh! I better watch out for the other shoe to drop!” In other words, “Something bad is probably going to happen, now that something good from God has happened in my life”. But that is not true. God is for us, not against us. His heart is to bless us, because He is that good! In this episode we continue looking at Romans 8:31-34, examining verses 33 and 34:

  • GOD is our JUSTIFIER, therefore NO ONE can bring a charge against us. (v. 33)
  • The One who has the rightful place to condemn righteously, judicially is The Lord Jesus Christ. But what is He doing? He DIED for me. He ROSE for me. He is AT THE RIGHT HAND OF GOD (the favored place) and He is INTERCEEDING for me!

  • We receive all the benefits of the Grace of God and what Christ has already accomplished for us by faith.
  • God’s Grace is accomplished through Jesus’ work in the past, justifying and reconciling us, gives us admission into the full benefits of God’s grace right now and gives us a real, rejoicing hope for our future.
  • The reality that there are only two races of humans on the planet: those in first Adam, who brought sin, death and condemnation to all and those in the Last Adam, the Lord Jesus Christ, who receive the gift of righteousness, peace and abundance of grace to reign as kings in this life.

Blessed #12 Blessed of God (Part 5)

Blessed Beyond Imagination series, part 12. In the Bible we read that God “justifies the ungodly“. How can that be? Today, we examine what He does this, looking at what the Bible says about:

  • All of us don’t deserve to be blessed, because of our sin, idolatry and rebellion against God. In fact, we deserve damnation and judgment.
  • There is only One — The Lord Jesus — who has the right to judge and condemn us. Yet He is in fact interceding for us.
  • Even though we don’t deserve to be blessed, every single person who is in Christ is richly blessed, because they have received the gift of Christ’s righteousness by faith.
  • What it means to be justified.
  • Texts: Romans 1:18, Ephesians 2:3-6, Psalm 32:1-2, Romans 4:5-7

Justified Forever! Part 2

[Romans 3:21-26] The great reformer Martin Luther once said, “This one and firm rock, which we call the doctrine of justification, is the chief article of the whole Christian doctrine, which comprehends the understanding of all godliness.” He also called this doctrine the “article of the standing and falling of the church …if this article stands, the Church stands; if it falls, the Church falls.”

Justification also finds supreme importance in the Bible itself. That’s what we’ll find out in this episode, part 2 of the message, “Justified Forever”

Justified Forever! Part 1

Many Christians are crippled in their walk with the Lord, because they wrongly believe that God is relating to them on the basis of their righteousness, instead of on the righteousness of JESUS CHRIST. But the truth is, we could never, in a billion-trillion years come even close to being “good enough” for God. If we could, then WE would have to get the glory, not God.

Recently, I preached a message at my home church called, “Justified Forever!”. Today, we’ll hear the first part of this message. It is important to understand that the biblical truth of justification by faith in Jesus and His finished work is vital to successful God-honoring Christianity. This truth sparked the Reformation nearly 500 years ago. It’s message has brought many to the saving knowledge of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

The Just Shall Live By Faith – Pt 6 (Hebrews Pt 36)

“Faith Ground Zero” [Hebrews 11:11-12, Romans 3:10-26]. Abraham faced an impossible situation: fathering a child when he was 100 and Sarah was 91. Yet, there was something remarkable about the nature of their faith. In fact, the Bible identifies their faith as “the righteousness of faith”. Through faith in Christ, they were supernaturally enabled by God to bear a son, the child of promise.

What was it about their faith that was so effective? To find that answer, we look to the book of Romans, chapters three and four. In this episode we delve into Romans 3:10-26 and see that the entire human race has fallen catastrophically far from God. None are righteous, so says God. Despite that grim outlook, God intervenes with HIS righteousness given freely, through faith in Jesus Christ, to all and on all who believe” (Rom 3:27). Our relationship with God is based on the perfect and wonderful standing that JESUS has with the Father. This is the foundation of living life victoriously with a bold and confident faith in Christ!
