Exposing Satan’s Master Scheme: To Be Like God WITHOUT GOD – Pt. 5

[Part 5 of 5] While Satan’s plan to keep us away from God is devious — by distracting us with DOING to be like God — God’s REALITY for the new order of our being is INFINITELY better than DO — it is CHRIST IN YOU, the hope of glory. In this episode we learn:

  • That we don’t live “for” Christ, but Christ HIMSELF is our life, who is IN us (1 Cor 1:27)
  • The zenith of Christian living is because of our union with Christ, who lives through us, AS US.
  • Living by The Spirit vs. living by the flesh (our humanity)
  • God is not interested in you “becoming”. Believer, you ARE because Christ IS.
  • The NEW ME: a humble vessel, honored to carry and manifest The Lord Jesus Christ!

Exposing Satan’s Master Scheme: To Be Like God WITHOUT GOD – Pt 4

[Part 4 of 5] If Satan’s #1 strategy to keep us AWAY FROM God is to have us believe that we must DO to be LIKE GOD… then what is GOD’s way and plan for us? In this episode we explore God’s brilliant plan in the new creation: not “just you”, but the NEW YOU in union (one) with Christ:

  • We examine the reality of Christ’s oneness with His Father in John 17. This is BEING based not on “doing” but on UNION WITH GOD.
  • What it means when the Bible says that we CONTAIN Christ: as earthen vessels, branches of the vine, in Last Adam (Christ), temples of the Holy Spirit, slaves of righteousness, members of the body of Christ, as the wife (bride) of Christ, as the Father is in Christ.

Exposing Satan’s Master Scheme: To Be Like God WITHOUT GOD – Pt. 3

[Part 3 of 5] Satan’s #1 goal is to keep us away from God, at all costs. And his #1 tactic to achieve that goal is so subtle, seemingly so good, that we miss it entirely: He tries to get us to be LIKE GOD WITHOUT GOD, by having us believe that we become like God because of what WE DO. In this episode we look at The Perfect Son of God and Son of Man, Jesus, and how He countered that lie. We delve into:

  • Important warning signs that the devil is keeping us away from God by distracting us with trying to DO to become like God.
  • Satan’s failed schemes against Jesus, the Perfect Man, and how Jesus countered those schemes, which were centered on “DO to become like God”.
  • Jesus #1 counter to Satan’s “DO to become like God” tactic: “I can do NOTHING of Myself” (John 5:19)

Exposing Satan’s Master Scheme: To Be Like God WITHOUT GOD – Pt. 2

[Part 2 of 5] On the surface it looks so good. But in reality, it’s the deadly, cunningly deceptive scheme of Satan to keep us away from God: focusing on trying to be like God by means of our doing. In this episode, we examine Origin #2 of this diabolical scheme: the fall of our first parent’s Adam & Eve, and what that has to do with us today:

  • How Satan managed to get Adam and Eve to turn away from God and toward sin, even though they had no history of sin and lived in an environment of face to fellowship with God, surrounded by His goodness.
  • How sin springs to life when the law comes in, which is centered on DO AND LIVE.
  • How we are led into sin by trying to be like God without God, caught up in doing to be “like God”.
  • How false, unbiblical notions of sanctification are evidence of Satan’s scheme to keep us away from God, by distracting us with DO to BECOME LIKE GOD.

Exposing Satan’s Master Scheme: To Be Like God WITHOUT GOD – Pt 1

[Part 1 of 5]  Satan’s #1 goal in our lives is to keep us away from God at all costs. How does he achieve that goal? What is his master strategy to keep us away from God? The way that Satan frequently works in our lives is by hiding inside something that on the outside looks good, but is in fact deadly. In this episode, we expose Satan’s Master Scheme. In this study, we explore:

  • Satan’s prime tactic to achieve his #1 goal of keeping us away from God is by deceiving us into trying to be “like God” based on what we DO.
  • To understand how this happens, we look at two origins of the lie “DO to be like God”: the fall of Lucifer (who became Satan) and the fall of our first parents, Adam and Eve.
  • We examine in depth Origin #1, the fall of Lucifer: “I will make myself like the Most High”.

Believe Also In Me

[John 14:1-6] Many people say they “believe in God”…. but do you believe IN JESUS? Many Christians say they believe in Jesus and yet they burn themselves out trying to be “more like Jesus”. God is not interested in you “trying to be more like Jesus”…. He’s got a better way, and that way IS Jesus. In this lesson we discover:

  • Even though God made man in His image and according to His likeness (Gen 1:26), Adam and Eve bought the Satanic lie that they could be like God without God. The impact of that great lie effects our thinking today.
  • Jesus is the both perfect deity and perfect humanity. All that God The Father does is only through Jesus. That’s the way He gets things done, even in our own lives.
  • How easy it is — because of fallen thinking — to fall into the trap of “I will make myself like the Most High”.
  • What real repentance is.
  • What true saving faith is.

Hebrews Pt 50: The Prominence & Preeminence of Christ

[Hebrews 13:8-24]  Jesus Christ is not only prominent in the scripture, He is also preeminent. In the midst of verses that appear to be a “Christian To Do list”, Hebrews 13:8 triumphantly declares, “Jesus Christ, is the same yesterday, today and forever.” This is no accident: it is the Holy Spirit reminding us yet again of the absolute prominence and preeminence of The Lord Jesus Christ. In this final lesson we examine:

  • The center of our faith is Christ, not ourselves (law)
  • The unchangableness (immutability) of God and the stability that brings.
  • The self-existence (aseity) of God. He needs no one and is non-dependent, that’s why we depend on Him for all.
  • What it means to have the heart “established by grace”.
  • The shadows and type of the Old (Law) Covenant versus the realities of the New Covenant. Temporary measures (living under law) yield temporary results. A perfect high priest completing a perfect, finished work yields permanent results.
  • The Conclusion of the Matter: Hebrews 13:20-21

Hebrews Pt 49: The Prominence of Christ – Part 1

[Hebrews 12:25-13:6] In all of the scripture, no one is more prominent than The Lord Jesus Christ. No work is greater than His finished work. If we refuse Him, we refuse The Father. Having Him, we have all. In this lesson we learn:

  • How vitally important it is to not refuse The Father who is speaking through His son.
  • The eternally fatal error of believing that somehow we are righteous and good enough. And the great encouragement and hope that we who have received Christ really have.
  • What the LET’s of Hebrews 13:1-5 are really all about.
  • The fruitful difference that having real faith in Christ makes, not only in our own lives, but also in the lives of those who see our manner of living.

Hebrews Pt 48: The Bondage of Law vs. The Holy Freedom of Grace

[Gal 4:21-31]  Many Christians struggle and continue to live in bondage, because they mix together two TOTALLY DIFFERENT covenants, the Old Covenant of Law and the New Covenant of grace. In this lesson, we’ll examine yet another striking contrast between the Old Covenant (law) and the New Covenant (grace), as portrayed in Galatians 4 by a bondwoman (Hagar) and a free woman (Sarah):

  • The one, law, produces bondage. The other, grace, sets people free to enjoy God and His blessings of grace, which produces holy freedom and holy living.
  • The true purpose of the law is to provoke a sinner’s sin nature, thus increasing and strengthening sin, driving the sinner in desperation for deliverance to The Savior.
  • Why it is important for Christians to cast out law (which is living by the flesh) and decidedly live by The Spirit, by faith, according to the grace of God.

Note: while this lesson explores the powerful truth that Christians are absolutely not under law but under grace, we will get into much greater depth in our next teaching series, “You Are NOT Under Law, Because You Are Under Grace”.

Hebrews Pt 47: The SO MUCH BETTER of The New Covenant

[Hebrews 12:22-24] Many Christians live with a sense of condemnation and fear of God’s judgment. They believe that because they have failed to be good enough, righteousness enough or faithful enough, God is somehow displeased with them — or worse — condemning them. In this episode, will see the great news of God’s grace in the New Covenant! We’ll explore:

  • The rich meaning of Mount Zion throughout The Bible and how it expresses so many things about God’s loving heart for His people and dwelling with them.
  • How we have ALREADY COME into all the rich of the blessings of The New Covenant.
  • How we are welcomed by God.
  • Jesus the Mediator of the New Covenant.
